When you visit St. Maarten as a teenager, there are some facts that are good to know.
- Legal drinking age: 18 years
- Enter Nightclub Bliss: 18 years
- Enter Nightclub Tantra: 23 years
- Enter Soggy Dollar Bar: 18 years
- To enter a Casino: 18 years
- For all the other bars there is not really an official age. But overall the minimum drinking age is 18 years.
- To rent a car you have to be 23 and in possession of a valid drivers license.
- To rent a quad you have to have a valid drivers license and credit card.
There are a lot of water sport opportunities for teenagers. For example: renting jet ski’s, parasailing, kite surfing and so on. The most proper beach for these activities in Orient Beach, located 10 minutes from Princess Heights. For more information contact the Front Desk.
Go to the Caribbean Cinema’s Megaplex 7.0 in Simpson Bay for the latest movies. A ticket costs only $ 6,50. Don’t forget your sweater because the air conditioner is always on!
When you visit St. Maarten with a group, we recommend to go on Rhino Safari. You will be on a high speed watercraft sailing through the lagoon into the open waters of the Atlantic ocean. After a one hour tour you will discover the beauty of the marine life at Creole Rock. Your guide will have some refreshing drinks waiting for you. Go explore the island on a Quad. There are several company’s on the island that rent them. Rental prices start at $45,00 dollar a day. You have to have a valid drivers license and credit card to rent one.
Pineapple Pete offers a big pool room with 8 pool tables. It’s the perfect place to hang out with friends and have a nice evening.
There are several excellent and affordable restaurants on St. Maarten that are perfect for teenagers and young adults. Top 3:
Mark’s Place: Located next to the Grand Marche in Dutch Cul de Sac. They serve the best spare ribs on the island. All you can eat for only $12.50. They also have Dutch snacks, sate, and several delicious steaks
Sky is the Limit: Local barbeque grill located in Grand Case. They serve fresh barbequed ribs and chicken and several other local favorites.
Mama’s Pizza: Best pizzeria on the island. They are located in Oyster Pond on a 5 minute drive from Princess Heights. The seating is very cozy and the 14’ thin crust pizza’s are delicious. Prices starting from $11,00
If you are not feeling adventurous, the Dutch Side has several American fast food franchises including McDonalds(2), Burger King(3), Subway(5), Pizza Hut(3), Dominoes(6), KFC(4) and Bubble Tea(4).

Cribs and Toys
The hotel owns several cribs and toys that can be requested when you make a reservation. When you have planned a trip with a baby, we recommend a one bedroom suite in stead of a studio because there is more space for the crib
Baby-sitting service is available seven days a week from friendly, mature sitters, who are available through the main office. Please contact the main office from Monday to Friday between 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We will require at least 24 hours advance notice. Advise them of the time and approximate length of stay for which the sitter will be required. Hourly rate is $10.00 per hour prior to 12:00 midnight and $12.00 per hour after 12:00 midnight. Holiday rates start at $12.00 per hour.
Guests will make payments directly to the sitter. At no time is the hotel responsible for the payments to the sitter. Cancellation: Please notify the main office at least 8 hours in advance to avoid penalty charge of 2 hours. All baby-sitters are independent contractors and the hotel can not assume any responsibility for childcare.
We possess a small car seat which can be rented for $5 a day. When you have the car that’s included in our special, you can also rent a car seat at the car rental company for the same price.
