The 33rd Heineken Regatta

The first weekend of March starts like every year with the Heineken Regatta at St. Maarten. Between the 28th of February and March the 3rd the Caribbean sea is part of this sailing event. Every day over 200 teams compete at the Caribbean See in the exciting races. The 33rd edition of the Heineken Regatta is considered as one of the “must do events” in the Caribbean. This popular sailing event not only attracts lots of international sailing teams. It is also attracts businesses, families, clubs and associations. There will be a lot of different classes of sailing boats. From small sailing boats to huge sailing yachts.

The Regatta

This Regatta began in 1980 with a modest 12 entries. Currently it has increased to 250 boats from over 32 countries. This international event has drawn public from over 160 individual countries! The Heineken Regatta in St. Maarten is the largest one in the Caribbean! The Heineken Regatta in St. Maarten is a unique blend of international sailing, with three days of intense racing around the island. Each day brings a new route. 

Party Schedule

Every night after the race you will be able to enjoy a lot of different unique performances from artists, musicians or DJ's from all around the world. All the guests enjoy great food and ice cold Heineken beers. There are spectacular parties with all sorts of music, even if you do not participate in the Regatta, the atmosphere is something you have to experience.

Organization

The organization consists for the most part of volunteers who commit themselves to work on the Heineken Regatta in St. Maarten every year. The directors meet regularly with the members of the committee to make sure the event is on track.

Commodores Cup for Spinnaker Class only
Press conference at Port de Plaisance.
Opening Party at Port de Plaisance, Main stage and several musical acts.
 
Friday March 1st 2013
First day of racing-Around the Island Race.
Party on the Boardwalk, Philipsburg; multiple stages, various musical acts including: Orange Grove and Patrick Grayham
 
Saturday March 2nd 2013
Second day of racing-start in Great Bay, Philipsburg and finish the race in Marigot
Party in Marigot, main stage and multiple musical acts.

Sunday March 3rd  2013
Final day of racing-start in Marigot and finish in Simpson Bay
Party on Kim Sha Beach, Simpson Bay
Prize giving ceremony on Kim Sha Beach, Simpson Bay
