Currency: It is always a good idea to take note of what currency your purchases are listed. As a rule you will be better off paying in the quoted currency. American dollars are accepted everywhere on the island in addition to credit cards and U.S. Travelers Checks. Dutch Side: The official currency is the Netherlands Antilles Florijn (or Guilder), which is fixed to the US dollar. US$ 1.00 = 1.78 ANG. You may find that different business may have varying rates ranging from 1.78 to 1.82 ANG per dollar.

French Side: The official currency is the Euro (€), which fluctuates on the world market.  US$1.00 = approximately €1.20. You may find that it is worth exchanging some dollars for Euros especially for big-ticket items (or charge it to your credit card but make sure to let them know to charge you in the Euro and not to convert to US Dollars).
